  3. He seems quite satisfied with his meal, floating peacefully. But there are number of dishes I wouldn't recommend to Gerard if this is what happens after curry...

  5. Oh dear. So, is this a super power or simply something he must suffer through? Either way, he does make quite a smart hot air balloon. Also, was your curry comment in the sidebar before today? Or perhaps you always have a quote to go with the image and I've been slow to notice? (Apologies if this is the case!)

  6. ...Oh! ...And after that meal, I sure hope no gas goes leaking on the poor inhabitants of the basket. Funny-- and wonderfully, whimsically drawn-- as usual! :)

  7. Despues de un buen curry soy capez de.... hmmm... well, flying is out due to fall risk (I am an uninsured American artist!) also breathing underwater due to probability of shark attack. If there were a magic curry that could make me never ruin a piece of art in the final stages, that would be magic enough for me. Sometimes.

  9. have you got, Gerard, enough curry to continue your flight?

( I did not know about this way of flying, seems to be pretty cheap )
    :)

    1. cheap!!?? In-flight refueling with this stuff is CRAZY expensive - and flying chefs are hard to find, nevermind tipping the waiters!

  10. Nice work. This has inspired me to go to my local Indian lunch buffet tomorrow for Chicken Tikka Masala.

  11. Hi Rod! I am back and enjoying the mysterious world of the pen mover! :) This guy with an excellent surface-area-to-volume ratio turns out to be very universal, a week ago he just got filled with fluid.

  12. HA! This is so funny!
    Great style also!

  13. Hello Rod! First of all, I like the new avatar.

You like flying, I see. I notice that your illustrations seem to have a propensity or capacity for being airborne, now, how is that for "capable"? They are all capable of flying or floating in air.

    Have a great day!

  14. Today is overcast and rainy, a perfect day for chicken curry!

Rod, thank you so much for sending Gerard into the upper stratosphere. We don't want to experience the smell of post-digestion curry down here.

  15. Great image. Makes the mind float along... After a chicken curry, pushing the plate back a little from the edge of the table and leaning back in your chair, yes, the self expands - first to contain all the sensations of the meal on the tongue, in the mind, and the gut, as everything gears up to process unaccustomed spices, and then, then the mind expands to envelop everything you see, remember and can imagine - more vibrant, aromatic, alive. If, as you choose to interpret, this is due to flatulance, then so be it. The world is more intense. Anthony Burgess got it.

    2. "This curry was like a performance of Beethoven's Ninth Symphony that I'd once heard.....especially the last movement, with everything screaming and banging 'Joy.' It stunned, it made one fear great art. My father could say nothing after the meal."
