IF Whiskers
Size: 20 x 22 cms
Media: Tattoo Ink on Pigskin
Pens: Tattoo machines
I like to throw in something different now and again. There is a financial crisis in Spain and some of you may be aware that for the past two months I have been trying to teach myself how to tattoo as it is difficult to survive solely on the illustrations that I do and I need some regular income from somewhere else...still illustration, but on skin...with needles.
Its probably the most difficult medium that I have used to date and I have full respect for all tattooists.....when a mistake is made, it stays. I obviously cannot practise on human skin.It is fairly common amongst tattoo 'apprentices/wannabes' to use pigskin as this is physically quite close to human skin. What does this have to do with whiskers? Well some pigskin is hairy...this bit was and I had to shave it prior to tattooing it...otherwise Al Capone would have had whiskers.

IF Stay
Size: 24 x 24 cms
Media: Indian Ink and paper
Pens: Dip pen Gillott no.5 and Lamy fountain
The IF theme this week is the word 'Stay'. The first thing that came to my mind was telling a dog to stay. Then I remembered something I had read on the internet a few weeks ago which said "STAYING calm is paramount if you or your pet is attacked by a dangerous dog."... Yeah Right!!!

IF Shadows
Media: Indian Ink & paper
Pens: Lamy Al Star fountain pen.
The above drawing was a submission for IF.Com weekly theme. This weeks theme was 'Shadows'. My idea behind this drawing was to experiment with the shading method of crosshatching as shading is essentially shadows. A 'shady character' casts his own shadow outside the picture frame.
Media: Indian ink & paper
Pen: Lamy Al Star fountain pen
This drawing was the first attempt at a shady character..the sort of guy who you don't want to be stuck with in a party.....
