Media: Pen & Ink
Pen: Noodlers Flex
I drew this work of art in my little sketch book this morning whilst waiting in a hospital corridor for somebody else's appointment. The only pen I had was running out of ink and I didn't for some reason have my normal 3 or 4 fountain pens with me..With little ink I had one chance of making this thing work!!.It was a small work and various people passed me in my seat trying to see what I was drawing...it inspired me to draw mad faces with my pen...But these guys were the doctors and not the patients. All in a days insanity...
Good thing they didn't come and take you away. ;)
ReplyDeleteNot yet!
Delete:D I like it, Rod! There is nothing actually happening, but it seems to funny of itself . Waiting rooms are - often - boring places , but if you have a piece of paper and PENCIL , you do not have to worry about ink :) when killing time with drawing
ReplyDeleteThanks AIJ...you just noticed!! Nothing really ever happens in my cartoons..I just draw and make it up afterwards!!!
DeleteOhhhh.. I love that song they did called Safety Dance. Wait... this isn't Men without Hats, is it. Sorry.
ReplyDeleteNice scratchy, almost empty pen effect. Gives them personality.
Thanks Ted...The Men without hats are coming to take you away haha!

DeleteWhen I first heard that it was on a 45 record that a kid brought over to our house. The flipside had the same song but in reverse, which was even creepier to hear.
DeleteThis drawing was based on that song of course...I just didn't mention it. It was actually posted on my instagram link on my Facebook before I decided to make a post here...I wrote the caption..."They are coming to take you away haha....me...probably!"
DeleteI used to listen to this when it was played on the Radio when I was a kid...It never creeped me out. My Dad would often say "They're coming to take you away!"...or "the men in white coats are here!" to us if we did something strange or odd..which was most days.
Ohhhhhh... NOW you tell me. I rarely go to Facebook.
DeleteHee hee hee!! A strange breed those doctors!!!
ReplyDeleteI didn't have to use my imagination much...I just drew who I saw!!!
DeleteHi Rod. estoy seguro que las caras de los doctores eran exactamente como tú las dibujaste... ¿No sería bueno cambiar de hospital? :))))
ReplyDeleteJajaja...hay peores!!!
DeleteHmm. They look eerily similar to my neighbourhood doctors whom I never ever visit.
ReplyDeleteI think they are Generic doctors!
DeletePlease stay healthy, dear renmoving Rod!

Deleteto the funny hospital haha hihi hoho! Feeling better already?
DeleteHa ha!!! Now I remember why I dislike hospitals! The guy on the right gave me the smile I so sorely needed today!
ReplyDeleteThanks Mit!
DeleteHi Rod.....I don't remember threatening you with the'men in white coats'maybe the " Black Douglas " as in 'wheesht ye, wheesht ye, dinnae fret ye...the Black Douglas willnae get ye".......but maybe....memory is going as well as everything else !
ReplyDeleteHi Dad. Maybe my memory is going or I probably made that up for effect like everything else on this blog...I can't remember!
DeleteI certainly dinnae remember the Black Douglas thing.
DeleteHi Rod, on reflection it is probably what my mum(your Gran) said to me.....the implication being...keep that up sunshine and the Black Douglas will get you....
DeleteHaha! I'll blame your memory then!
DeleteFor anyone not from Scotland...the Black Douglas was the local terrorist/sheep stealer/general ne'er do well...reputed to eat children.
