Men in white coats

                                                                  Size: 14 x 10cms
                                                                  Media: Pen & Ink
                                                                  Pen: Noodlers Flex

I drew this work of art in my little sketch book this morning whilst waiting in a hospital corridor for somebody else's appointment. The only pen I had was running out of ink and I didn't for some reason have my normal 3 or 4 fountain pens with me..With little ink I had one chance of making this thing work!!.It was a small work and various people passed me in my seat trying to see what I was drawing...it inspired me to draw mad faces with my pen...But these guys were the doctors and not the patients. All in a days insanity...

  2. :D I like it, Rod! There is nothing actually happening, but it seems to funny of itself . Waiting rooms are - often - boring places , but if you have a piece of paper and PENCIL , you do not have to worry about ink :) when killing time with drawing

  3. Ohhhh.. I love that song they did called Safety Dance. Wait... this isn't Men without Hats, is it. Sorry.

Nice scratchy, almost empty pen effect. Gives them personality.

    3. When I first heard that it was on a 45 record that a kid brought over to our house. The flipside had the same song but in reverse, which was even creepier to hear.

    4. This drawing was based on that song of course...I just didn't mention it. It was actually posted on my instagram link on my Facebook before I decided to make a post here...I wrote the caption..."They are coming to take you away haha....me...probably!"

I used to listen to this when it was played on the Radio when I was a kid...It never creeped me out. My Dad would often say "They're coming to take you away!"...or "the men in white coats are here!" to us if we did something strange or odd..which was most days.

  5. Hi Rod. estoy seguro que las caras de los doctores eran exactamente como tú las dibujaste... ¿No sería bueno cambiar de hospital? :))))

  6. Hmm. They look eerily similar to my neighbourhood doctors whom I never ever visit.
