Sometimes you leave me wordless... but if I have to dig, I find this sad, and ringing true, and terribly, terribly funny all at the same time. You just hit it, Rod.
Now here's a shifty looking fellow! I think he must be practicing his scary look in the mirror. I like the way he turns the gun in the second panel. Because he thinks he's a pretty cool guy. But probably too scared to leave his house. :D
I think you have a good idea about the mirror...or maybe its the point of view from the fwuffy kwitten toy shop keeper....The gun movement was fun to do, admittedly...you caught me out spotting that little fetish!!
if they don't sell the fluffy toys, will he shoot the clerk? or perhaps, if they DO he might shoot the clerk...
I don't envy the clerk fending off this patron... experience will show, however, that in all likelihood the fluffy toys are for the gunman himself. He like shot and ate the kitten he once had years ago. A wise clerk would not divulge this epiphany.
The gun twist in the 2nd panel is vital. and overall well executed.

ReplyDeleteThanks...it is sad in a way, you're right!
Deletehaha. Nice set-up, funny punchline and weird enough to appeal to me, too. And, you have perfect characters for fitting into square cartoon panels.
ReplyDeleteThanks Ted...I Like square stuff, round stuff and weird stuff.

ReplyDeleteThanks...Ted is often right!!

ReplyDeleteHe wuvs his wittle gwun too!
DeleteGreat how you let him talk with his eyes!
ReplyDeleteOur mouths just tell lies really...its the eyes that tell the truth!

Deletesquiggly thinking and unpredictable angle of incidence .... where are you going to get inspiration?
ReplyDeleteI mean: I like IT!!
DeleteThanks AIJ...As usual inspiration comes from the pen itself..I draw.... and see what happens!!
