Just some stuff I have drawn in sketch books and on paper recently..I can see some characters entering my work lately and for some reason have their mouths open...It's just a phase I'm going through. More stuff soon. I hope no one gets offended at anything...but in the name of showing my personal stuff...I showed it as it was.

  1. we are (all) normal... great. The open mouth phase is interesting, maybe the characters a bit tired because of hot weather? Anyway, looking forward to see more of your creations...

    1. I have left so much of my illustrations off here as they are a bit edgy and I don't want the Pen Mover to be put in the 18 category...having said that I could start an 18 warning blog.....The Pen(is) Mover maybe?

  3. I like these and I like edgy! All of them are icky in their own genius ways, brilliant! :-)

  4. Well, Rod, an 18 warning blog is an interesting idea, but I'm not sure I will like it as much as this blog. But maybe I'm just square.

I see it this way: When I'm at a comedy club I notice all the very funny, smart comics come out early and do their fairly clean material, but around midnight, as the audience starts to feel the effects of their drinking, the lesser comedians come out. They're material is usually based around drug and sex humor, because a drunk audience is more apt to laugh at that stuff. I kinda see sex jokes as an easier way to get a laugh because of that. JMO

I admit, I laugh at Chris Rocks off-color humor, but he is the exception because he is THAT good.

Okay, I'm off my soapbox. -TB

    1. I appreciate your soapbox performance Ted!! To be honest I wasn't that serious...I totally agree with what you are saying.. I sometimes have to think, should I put some of my illustrations on here or not...probably like you (like the foot eyes)...but edgy is usually OK...that's why its edgy...its not too deliberately 18....so really I would never have a need to have an 18 blog.. I think I will always be honest in what I am as an artist..I can't try and find dirty jokes or draw penises just for the sake of it...that's not really me(I'm not saying I'll never draw some things because that would take away the freedom I try and give my Pen movements)...Sex and drugs and rock and roll would probably be wasted humour on the intelligent guys I get visiting here...And probably no one comes here drunk enough....to appreciate it.... :)

    2. Well, if you must draw edgy pen movements, how about drawing the occasional bowel movement? That's fun for all ages! Your call, of course.

    3. Toilet humour can be funny...it depends whether you are eating or not when it happens.

  5. Hi, I see the word cunt and some hairy armpits, I can handle that. The open mouths I find more disturbing. I love the movings of your pen, Rod, but why so loud?

  6. I like all of this stuff here. Could this be uhm.... your way of anger management perhaps?
The sequal with the tnuc-guy is my favourite

  7. As always, Rod, your drawings get me thinking. Sometimes they make me laugh out loud - always a good moment. This one I've come back to, to add my comment which now that I've given it an overnight mull is: if I AM offended... here or anywhere, why? (but I'm not. Your drawings comment on the world, they are not you) The open mouth and very few letters opens up possible interpretations even further - very welcome. THe mind churns. Goes well with an early morning coffee. Have a great week!

  8. SO OFFENDED!
    Meh, not really. :)
My favorite is that last guy which really shows off your pen moves in that great face, those shoes, and the little details. Very cool! As for that body builder fellow I wonder, did some "friends" play a practical joke while he was napping, hoping he would go all the way to the gym and not realize what was on his forehead until he flexed in the mirror! That would be a pretty good joke. Or bad joke. It might be pretty good if he was a jerky musclehead!
