IF Crooked (The Kray twins?)
Size: 22 x 15 cms
Media: Pen & Ink
Pens: Lamy fountain
The Krays were a crooked bunch. A family of English Gangsters in the 50s and 60s. The famous pair were the twins, Ronnie and Reggie....It was rumoured they were actually triplets, but one of them, Gerard, wasn't exactly like the other two.

It seems Gerard is everywhere :-)
ReplyDeleteIt just seems...
Deletegreat pen moving there!
ReplyDeleteThanks JPIC..I just move them, they do the rest.
DeleteI never figured that Gerard could be a man outside the law (:0
ReplyDeleteNoooooo, an idol has fallen!
(or born a new idol, I really do not know, I have to see that again)
Byeeeeeeeeeeeeeee buenos vinos, hombre!!!!
Buenos vinos y buen fin de semana Hombre!! (Gerard is no O:) )
DeleteI like this. I like the story that goes with it. The twins are good looking. Poor Gerard. They may be triplets indeed.
ReplyDeleteThanks Ces...But its not all a story...You did know about Ronnie and Reggie Kray?....they were real! Google the Kray twins (images too).
DeleteWell... now we're getting to the bottom of this Gerard character.
ReplyDeleteThis could go two ways: Poor, innocent Gerard stuck in the middle of this dark, family business he wants no part of, or... Gerard is actually the boss of this triumvirate, because it's always the short, ugly guys that run the mobs. The guys with the lantern jaws usually 'enforce' things (the twins).
My guess is that he left the seedy family long ago searching for his REAL parents, since he obviously is from different stock. If so, will we ever meet Gerard's real folks??
Your call, Mr MacGregor.
I've lead a sheltered life Ted...I have now been looking at lantern jaws this morning...I think Gerard could have a hidden lantern jaw.
DeleteOh my gosh! I know this story. Why do I know this story? Spandau Ballet. That's right, an 80's band - with members Gary and Martin Kemp. And they played the Krays in the film. :D
ReplyDeleteI don't remember Gerard in the film, but that's hardly his fault, given the roguish charm and good looks of those dashing Kemps. They probably cut his part entirely. Maybe that's best. It's hard to remain a shadowy underworld figure after a film is made about your life.
Haha Cindy...funny one. I always thought the Kemps were too 'pretty' to portray the Kray twins...they weren't menacing enough to me.
DeletePuts me in mind of the sneaky shadowy spy twins from the 'Triplets of Belleville'.
ReplyDeleteGerard is either being hornswaggled, or he's running the whole show. --Your Krays could be effectively played by a double filmed Arnold Schwartzenhoogannogginnager...
I like Gerard's expression.
he seems to be in his zone.
.
I think Schwarzenegger would have to practice his cockney accent to land that part!
DeleteGerard looks a litle sketchy, too. I won't trust him either. I love your take on the topic.
ReplyDeleteHa ha ha ha!!! Does that mean Gerard is not crooked?!! I like Richard's theory that he is in charge...that makes a lot of sense!
ReplyDeleteI think this is just another one of Gerard's dreams... :-)
