This was my first rough which I was going to redraw...but I liked something about this one so I left it as it was! (As usual drawn directly onto paper with ink with no pre drawing, erasing or photoshop work...I leave the world to look at my mistakes!!)
LOL
ReplyDeleteHoly cow, drawn directly onto paper with ink! You crazy, brave man. Haha, I wonder where these two are off to? Escaping their wives' book club perhaps. Or maybe they are longtime bachelors (or a couple!). Either way, I'm not too surprised they are unaware of the tragedy beneath.
ReplyDeleteSee below answer to Ted First roughs comment....I think it is a valuable exercise to draw in ink with no pre drawing...It's often not pretty and isn't always the 'best'...but there is something very raw about it that isn't always easy to replicate....When I do commercial Artwork...I usually use an artists lightbox, pre drawing, photoshop/illustrator etc etc..so when I am 'free' (like on this blog)...I am not too worried about the polishing.....I do often redraw here though, but again, usually directly in ink using my roughs as a reference.
DeleteI agree! (Despite my recent comments about the importance of sketching, haha.) I think it's good to do both.
DeleteNo,no, yo no veo errores, Hombre, es un dibujo muy suelto.
ReplyDeleteMoreover, this kind of drawing, what counts is the humorous that you want to show!!!! Y ese mensaje ha llegado perfecto a mi cabeza, Hombre!!!
Para mí, está Super OK!!!!!!
Buena semana!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Gracias por tu comentario, realmente muchas gracias!
Very funny!! Nice blood splatter!
ReplyDeleteOK, Rod, enough for today, You're drunk?
ReplyDeleteI must say that on Sundays you should not drink too much Spanish wine, because then, on Monday, you write crazy comments :)))))
Gracias, Hombre, tú eres muy amable, demasiado. :)))))))))
Un abrazo fuerte desde beyond the horizon!!!!
Gone are the days of drunkeness...solo bebo una cerveza de vez en cuando!!
Deleteit makes me smile :-)
ReplyDeleteWhat is it about those first roughs, you just can't get it again..
ReplyDeleteGood one, Rod. Funny!
I think first roughs ARE the 'Artwork'...capturing your feelings with cheap materials, no care in the world, freedom, looseness, working for yourself, with your heart as a guide...I think subsequent works attempt to emulate something that you had already settled on and captured...we think it would look better polished and redrawn 'like it should be done'...but often the very essence of the 'Art' is lost...we probably don't know what was attractive about the one (the first rough) we settled on and therefore become ignorant when we redraw and miss it out completely with our new generically 'acceptable' interpretation/drawing.
DeleteRod, yo estoy completamente de auerdo contigo!
DeleteHahahah! This is cruel and funny at the same time. BwahahahahahahQ
ReplyDeleteAgree, the first rough is perfect for the theme, reflects the carelessness of those guys. Or maybe it has something to do with how they see the world, I bet their glasses are full of greasy fingerprints.
ReplyDeleteGreasy fingerprints on their glasses and boiled sweets stuck in the carpets etc etc...you and Ted (see below) are right!!!
DeleteIt's true. Rod's character's DO seem like the types who would have greasy fingerprints on their glasses.
ReplyDeleteOh terrible!! jajajaj Good!!
ReplyDeleteI found an enormous amount of freedom when I stopped trying to avoid mistakes, and rather just incorporated them into the final art. I applaud your naked honesty, and agree that it is the real art. Much more enjoyable to do as well.
ReplyDeletethe hitchhiker...ouch.
.
This is great fun ! But also your thoughts about roughs.....yes I agree, you are right....
ReplyDeleteAnd the hitchhiker ? Fixing the falling exhaust? :)
It´s great...and of course....you have me laughing:):)
ReplyDeleteOh my! This really made me laugh.
