I agree with Ted,why is he puzzled? Buen fin de semana Hombre!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yo tampoco quiero balas en mi corazón...but there are hearts that have!!! not my fault!!! :) Sol, vino, buena comida!!!!! hasta el Lúnes!!!!
I agree with Ted. Really! Why does he have a cross? Is it only Christians who do/did evil deeds in the name of religion? Very easy to prosecute Christians, hmmn? I dare you do the same to those who terrorize the world in the name of their god. Yeah? Yeah? Yeah? Don't take up my challenge. :)
Hi Ces ..No offence intended to any religion in particular...I am not attacking Christianity...It was easier to represent what I wanted to say using the visual aid of a cross. Simply put, It has always puzzled me that throughout history..many evil things have been done and religious beliefs have often been behind them. I was going to take this post down..but I feel it makes a valid/interesting point and now that I have stated clearly I am not attacking one particular religion I hope that nobody is offended.....
NOOOOOOOOOO!!!! Do not remove this post. This is your view and you choose to represent it in a manner that is familiar to you. There should be a healthy debate about these topics without everyone getting all their knickers in a wad.
Thanks Ted, If you read what I wrote to Ces, I clearly stated that I wasn't attacking Christianity, or any religion...just making a point that has been made many times before about religion in general..which always leaves me puzzled...hence IF Puzzled! BTW I am a Christian.
Leave it up. Art should be able to make people think once in a while. it should not always be gooey and sweet. Indeed Christians are easy to target perhaps because they do not get all too excited and declare holy wars over drawings. Your premise is correct and honest.
Please don't remove this excellent illustration. Religion will always be a sensitive issue but you've stated your case clearly in the comments section and that clarifies any doubts anyone may have. Tough word to illustrate and this is a very unusual solution.
I agree with pRiyA - this is a very solid illustration. Please don't remove it! Many great images provoke thought and conversation. Based on the string of comments, I'd say you've created a very successful image with this one! For what it's worth, my first take on the illo was "what would happen if the devil found religion? I'm guessing he'd be pretty puzzled" - quite different from some of the other interpretations. Nicely done!
¿Quééééééé? ¿Sacar la ilustración?????? ¿Tú te has vuelto loco? HOMBRE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Deja a la gente que opine, un artista está más allá del bien y del mal!!!!!!!!!!!! HOMBRE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BUEN FIN DE SEMANA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yikes I was gone for a couple days and the place went crazy! No seriously. This is a great, sinister character and I love the way you've framed the sketch. Lovely use of light and dark. I probably shouldn't say anything at all about the religious aspect but I personally have no trouble agreeing that most religions have led to evil things in one way or another, and Christianity is not immune from this charge. But some will be more offended than others. It's just the way of things.
Uh oh... crossin' over the religion/politics line. That's cool, but why is he puzzled?
ReplyDeleteThats a complicated question Ted!

DeleteWell, Ces is right, he does have a cross.
ReplyDeleteIt's very easy to attack Christianity today, everyone's doing it, so it's the easy route to take, In my opinion.
There are evil doings by religions that are NOT so easy and safe to attack, like Moslem Extremists.
Leave it up, it's an interesting debate.

Wow, love the gloominess of this! And it is great to see some pencil work too, suits perfectly with the mood of this picture.

ReplyDeleteThis is a great illustration, all the concealed evil in his face …
ReplyDelete"…what's puzzling you is the nature of my game“
Como siempre, un gran trabajo Rod!
ReplyDeleteI can imagine looking around at the interior of my church as the service is going on, and then being startled by this guy in one of the windows there.
