I always thought "Manhole" would be a good name for a gay bar. But it's strange, I didn't get the the sexual innuendo till after reading your comment. I was more concerned with how Edmund finds 'maintenance holes' inside the mall.
Hahaha, Ted, nice. I think Edmund is a terrific specimen, though I admit to some skepticism regarding his special forces training. I'm thinking special - yes, training - maybe not so much. I will never think of a manhole (cover) the same way again.
I found the drawing to be funny....but the comments have proven to be even funnier! (Reminds me of my day job, actually. You'd never know we had sexual harrassment training with the jokes that fly about my dept!)
Hola Hombre (no Agujero del Hombre) Yio he tenido una semana rterrible, mucho trabajo y aún sigue así, I have not had time to go to Spain to see you!!! Perio vine a decirte Buen Fin de Semana!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have something in common with Edmund, I love manholes too! At least the covers of them, they can be so beautiful and decorative, hmmm, maybe I'll draw a series of Beijing manhole covers one day.. Thanks for giving me the idea ;-)
You should look at the work of American Artist Tommy Kane who has drawn/photographed a series of manholes/sewer caps in the USA... http://tommykane.blogspot.com.es/2007/02/manhole.html

ReplyDelete( In 1990, the city of Sacramento, California officially renamed all its manholes to "maintenance holes" out of concern for gender equality...)
The term shares the same initials as the word "manhole". Or Mover Hole.

Interesting fact Art....Man hole doesn't sound good does it? At least those guys can now say "I spent all day in a maintenance hole." instead.
