IF Yield
Size: 14 x 17 cms

Pens: Pencils
Halfway through any work, one is often tempted to go off on a tangent. Once you have yielded, you will be tempted to yield again and again... Finally, you would only produce something hybrid.

ReplyDeleteEhhhhhhhhhhhhhh BTW...

Whoa, am I in the right place?! Either Gerard is having a nightmare or a sinister presence has taken over your pencil. Or, you just decided to be different and make this cool and weird little bird man with his serious, sad face.
ReplyDeleteWait, I got this one: No es Gerard verdad - it is not Gerard! Also something about ham and have a nice weekend. And you may or may not be a hybrid biologist. (I hope you don't mind the silliness I usually leave here, this is one of my favorite Illustration Friday destinations.)
No I don't mind at all.....I like to see your take...thanks!
DeleteHmmm, that's one way of illustrating a rather difficult concept. Really like the way you've done it.
ReplyDeleteCheers pRiyA!
DeleteAh, we all have personal issues. This is not bad. Imagine if his father was a septic tank cleane? Hmn? I love birds and so let me just say that I identify. I would have imagined a beautiful bird of paradise though. Alas not all can be birds of paradise. Still, you have created another mental illustration. You know what I mean by mental, I hope. It is a compliment. Not everyone was meant to create cutesy pink curly, and tra la la images. Have a lovely week!
ReplyDeleteThanks Ces...I work hard to not create cutesy...there's already a lot of tra la la pinky...so I am pleased that you noticed mental...it IS a great compliment!!! Enjoy your week too!!
DeleteRod!!!!!
ReplyDeleteTodos en este mundo tenemos derecho a divertirnos!!!

ReplyDeleteRoast dinner?
DeleteIt appears Father was a little TOO close to the birds. YIKES!
ReplyDeleteI wonder if this young man ever met his bird mother? I mean birth mother. He doesn't look happy. Probably wasn't preened enough growing up.
Nice one, Rod! Funny.
He never met his mother Ted, he found himself in a frying pan one morning and flew out the kitchen window!
ReplyDeleteYou managed to conquer that horrible word with funny illustration, I am so jealous.... :-D
ReplyDeletehmmmm.... the mother may have been a musician. There's something decidedly viola-esque about his form. Flying and music always go together well anyway. I assume this fellow will go far.
ReplyDeleteNice manipulation of textures.
.
