IF Liquid (Fluid)
Size: 36 x 23 cms
Media: Gouache , ink,
charcoal on cardboard
Pens: Markers, crayons
"I see music as fluid architecture" Joni Mitchell
Edit: I thought I remembered the Illustration Friday word correctly, I even wrote it down correctly I thought...'Fluid', I wrote on my notepad. So of course I made my drawing sort of fit. The problem was that after posting this as 'IF Fluid'...I had noticed on the IF site that the word was actually Liquid....Maybe it fits better now....no...no it doesn't. OK so who cares? I don't. Its a bald guitarist with a long cable where the electric signals flow down towards the amplifier like liquid......OK?? OK NOW????

what colours? What features?...I visited your fanpage...I think we live on different planets.
DeleteTesting your new brand of "fluid metal quitar" ?
ReplyDelete(I like it) !
indeed, who cares! But what matters is the drawing
DeleteTruth is...I don't really care AI(J)!
DeleteYou should have added some beer bottles on the floor so the liquid part would have been covered... No, it is very cool, love the cardboard!
ReplyDeleteYou mind reader you!!! I nearly did that!! Thanks!
DeleteLiquid/Fluid, PotaTOE/PotATO/ different word, same meaning = awesome illustration! Great job man!
ReplyDeleteThanks Kel!
DeleteI also love the cardboard and I don't care about liquid :). Very nice! thanks.
ReplyDeleteHahaha. I have NEVER *cough* mixed up the IF word. (Well maybe once. Or twice. Or I lost count.) :D
ReplyDeleteI love it! I am such a big fan of white and ink on toned paper that I should really do it more often. Very cool guy, and guitar, and spaghetti-like mess of cords! (Maybe he's a meatball! See? Cause um, meatball is a funny word and he is on top of the spaghetti? I think so. It always gets weird around here!) ;)
Hahaha..Meatball, spaghetti...sounds good to me!
DeleteNo--it's an utterly dejected guitar player who isn't making anything happen. Those cords on the floor--that's his music, and his life--limp and bland. Poor guy. He seems so earnest too....
ReplyDelete(and eh, who cares about the actual prompts anyway). And I agree about the beer bottles....
Thats a depressing interpretation...I think I'll kill myself now.
DeleteOh! I love this band 'LIQUID STEEL'. They are so good! Woo hoo!! Guess the leader's doing his top 40 solo number while the other members of 'LIQUID STEEL' are backstage shooting up.
ReplyDeleteThats not liquid steel Ted its meatball and spaggetti.
DeleteJust trying to help.
Delete-and dont forget to visit my fan page! It's all in my head!
My, that's a lot of cord. Sign of success.
ReplyDeleteIf I succeed do I have to buy a long cord?
DeleteAnother great drawing.
ReplyDeleteWhere?
DeleteThat cable looks very liquid to me. It's becoming a sea, an ocean, with curling waves. The guitar player is standing in the 'cable water' and will drown if he plays to long! The white on the brown is very beautiful!
ReplyDeleteHave you been casting spells on Meatball?
DeleteI did! I tried! But it slipped off like liquid of a duck.
DeleteAaaaaahhhh!!!! I love your story and yes you made the prompt more interesting. I like the board and my goodness, how did you get into my house to draw the wires behind my desk?
ReplyDeleteThanks Ces...That was easy..I just drew the wiring mess under my desk and left the 200 plugs and extentions out.

ReplyDeleteThis rings a bell.
DeleteThis is funny because I kept thinking it was FLUID, too. I did a sketch of the "fluid movement of a jaguar" only to discover it was LIQUID. So the jaguar got the boot. I was back to the drawing board....literally.
ReplyDeleteThis is a VERY cool piece & I'm loving the cardboard, regardless of whatever the hell the stupid word was! :)
