Geetar Sketch Number 1

                                                                 Size: 28 x 16 cms
                                                                 Media: Pen & Ink
                                                                 Pens: Noodlers Flex
                                                                 and Rotring Artpen

I love geetars so I thought I'd occasionally throw in a sketch of one. I saw a photo of this beauty and thought the nearest that I'll ever get to that guitar was to put it on paper and make it mine...sorry to the guitar Luthiers...it's a bit out here and there.......that's artistic licence for you!

    1. Unfortunately I haven't got this one...I do have a Fender Stratocaster and an Epiphone Les Paul and two acoustic guitars though.(I will draw these in the future.)

  2. Wow! This is a very good drawing, the details - the strings, frets... I too like technical drawings. They are great mental exercises.

  3. Nice geetar. The beauty of art is we can create a fantasy world on paper with people and elements that are all ours. More valuable than material possessions.

    1. That's what I like about art Edward...Its how we take a real object or even a reference photo and change it into something unique.

  4. The two most difficult objects to draw in my opinion are geetar and cycle. I like your geetar!
    Have you seen this?

    2. Thinking of your comment again.People are renowned difficult subjects too...Maybe a drawing challenge would be to illustrate somebody riding a bicycle whilst they are playing a guitar.I know what a brilliant illustrator you are pRiya!!So I'll be looking out for your take on this at The Plum Tree.

    3. In all these many years of drawing, I've studiously avoided Guitar and Cycle. But I cannot refuse a challenge. It will take a while, but I'm in!

    1. Well, funnily enough, when I draw, I don't always tend to think of the objects name...I.e. Bass or Guitar or person, face etc etc....I try to forget that things in the real world have got a physical presence and name and try and transform my mind into seeing 2D shapes...or I'd overwork and get confused. When I look at your character work...I think you do a similar thing to me...I would suggest you draw your Bass like you draw your people....FUNKY!!!!

    2. haha, Very good advice man. Yeah mate, you're right, I've always worked in a similar way. It's why I get no joy in copying objects exactly how they are. My mind starts going mental when I try copying shit (or objects, lol)....I'll just use it as a basic reference, then just totally take it off somewhere else, make it look demented.. etc :D ...that's it... Bass is NEXT!! haha

  8. Rod, esta guitarra está espectacular, yo creo que lo que debería hacer un luthier es tomar tu modelo y fabricarlo ya mismo!!!!!

  9. This guitar has personality!! Anyone would feel like a rock star playing this!!

  10. Ooooh, very snazzy and well done. Terrific details! I think it was a smart move to leave it alone. Gerard would certainly break it. And spill food on it. And generally destroy its delicate being. :)

  11. Wow, geetar must be fun to draw, never tried. I need a project after Beijing tricycles, geetars are now taken, must be something else then :-P What would be the 3rd most difficult thing to draw...?
