Gerard and his imagination.......

No man is an island, entire of itself
every man is a piece of the continent, a part of the main
if a clod be washed away by the sea,
Europe is the less, as well as if a promontory were,
as well as if a manor of thy friends or of thine own were
any man's death diminishes me, because I am involved in mankind
and therefore never send to know for whom the bell tolls
it tolls for thee. (John Donne)

Grandes palabras, y muy buen dibujo. te felicito, amigo. hoy Gerard nos hace pensar, más que reir, y esto me parece muy bien, no solo de humor vive el hombre, verdad?

Congratulations. You are a great artist and a sensitive man!!!!!!!!!!!!! (you can not be a creative person if, while you are traveling on life's train, you have the window closed, right?

  2. Except Gerard! Why, he is a perfect island! Just look at him showing off his coconut grove! This is so cool!

  3. Once again, I am slightly frightened by the adventures of Gerard, dreaming or not. But art is not for the faint of heart! (Well, sometimes it is. But not around here!) He does make a smart, if rather steeply sided, island. I wonder is he resting at the bottom of the sea, or simply filled with enough buoyant gases to keep him floating above the depths so nicely. I do also wonder if it tickles, when tiny people walk across one's bulk. :D

  4. No man is an island...
    Gerard, however, is proving otherwise.

  5. I see this as more than just some fat dude in the water: The genius in this piece comes from the steeply-sided bank juxtaposed against the shark-infested waters, which is symbolic of the challenges we all face while trying to succeed in life. Gerard's steady gaze upward is our beacon, guiding us still higher. It's all positive man.

  6. Gerard looks like a grumpy unpredictable dangerous island, I hope that little guy don't go to explore the area around his mouth.
