  1. JA JA! Amigo, esto es casi surrealista! (es un pariente lejano de Gerard?)
Gracias por tu comment! You know, mi dibujo con la mano derecha fue desastroso, But I enjoyed doing it!!!!!!!!!!!

  3. Rod! I need some help here. If she took a cage down to a lower level, why are her shoes still in there? Did Gerard kidnap her? I am trying to grapple with a new Illustration Friday setup (not to mention having no idea what to draw for this topic) and here you have presented a cryptic cartoon. Or I am particularly dense today (very possible!) Let me be the first to admit I do not understand what is happening, and I shall continue to read this thread with interest, in the hope of some measure of enlightenment. :)

  4. Is there a Japanese family living on the bottom floor that would explain having to remove one's shoes before eating?

Oh wait... I think I have it: Remember the scene in Jurassic Park when the goat is fed to the T Rex? Was there a T Rex waiting in the basement? The poor guy misunderstood the sign thinking it was food for him, when actually HE was the food. All that's left are his shoes.

  5. Okay, I was thinking about it a bit, and now I think I have the gag idea as you intended: The elevator ride down to the food was taking forever, and when the hungry guy was finally there, he took off so fast in the direction of the food that he jumped right out of his shoes. Correct?

Not to be politically incorrect towards people of weight, but I think Gerard would have made it read more clearly. And to think that Gerard could move that fast is even more funny, IMO.

Apparently Gerard is the answer to all gag dilemmas, but that's not a bad thing. We love him.

    1. Your previous two guesses where the sort of ideas i was throwing at the viewer...If i had used Gerard..it would have read differently and I therefore used this other GUY (Cindy) My thoughts where based on ideas on the 'food chain'.

    2. I have to say though Ted, I wish I had your Gagging brain...the last scenario you suggested made me laugh...a bit of a Blackman Gag! (Fatboy leaving shoes in such a hurry...hahahaha!)

    3. I actually thought at one point maybe this *person* went down too far and the cube turned into an ice cube. But that wouldn't explain being able to see just the shoes. I like the Jurassic-related idea, but why would the monster eat the coat and not the shoes! The Japanese family story makes sense! (Kind of!)

Yeah, so I thought it was a coat dress on an old, tired woman. :D Anyway. Food chain! Ok, let me think about that.

    4. The ice cube version is cool....but what is it...what does it mean?

  6. Wow, wonder who lives down there. I hope not Gerard. At least his astronaut suit didn't have a hose named 'Little old ladies' so...

  11. Reading this thread is superfun! I thought it was a she too...
Whatever the original story behind your illustration might be, it's superb again! I like how the interpretation is different for everyone. I wasn't thinking of monsters, just a very hungry ehhhmm Person who ran out of patience by the time th elevator reached the floor where the food is!

  16. I like how everyone has its own different interpretation about what is going on...I think he took the elevator thinking there was food down there but in the end he was mistaken for food... I don't know if I got it right.
The one that lives in the basement was way hungrier :D
