IF Suspense

                                                    Size: 18 x 17cms
                                                    Media: Mixed (Ink, watercolour, crayons)
                                                    Pens: Sailor Sapporro, Pentel waterbrush

Thanks Illustration Friday...I am proud to have picked this weeks topic 'Suspense'... I thought the same as I normally do when I first see the word....that's a silly word for an art prompt....Then when I saw my name next to it I realised it wasn't so silly after all !!!!!

    2. hey, thanks for your reply in Spanish, well, I understood everything perfectly! Tú escribes tan bien como Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra, hombre!
      Obviously when I told you you had drawn on Thursday was a joke. (one bad joke, no one laughed)
      Ah yeah, the other type of drawing is more shocking, but this is very good too, do not be discouraged, you're a great artist!!!!!! OLE!!!!!

  4. Great composition. When I squint my eyes, it looks like a flag.

  6. Aaaah, that's a bit terrifying. I used to love roller coasters but they are more likely to fill me with dread now as I wait in line (though it's been ages, now that I think of it). Nice illustration. I see he's still got the blue striped tie. ;)

  9. It's good to see Gerard out and having fun, instead of getting fat behind his accounting desk.

    Really? This word was your idea?? Now I have to do a drawing for sure.

    1. Nobody gets the word emailed to them at the moment..they have had a mailing list crash apparently for a few weeks and are trying to sort a new one out...The also have a Facebook page which gives(this)info.
      And to the above comment, Ted, I look forward to a Clown or caveman in suspense.

  12. Well, I've never had one of my topics chosen; some of them prompt more ideas in me that ever. This one actually did a lot (not that I have had time to do anything about it). But I really like your picture. It's frightening is a sortof surrealistic sort of way, like how dangerous could anything be to someone who is all blown up like a balloon. He could just let go, and go flying, but he's no doubt way high up in the air, and reality could come crashing down.

  13. I went to Illustration Friday and I saw your name there! Love the composition. I hope the terrifying top right bit never ever happens to me.

  14. Love the fresh colors and the excitement! And congratulations for getting your word picked! Now I have to participate too... maybe tomorrow...
    I'm busy with playing with the new laptop I bought. Have so much to configure, e.g. VPN service to bypass the great China firewall, otherwise wouldn't be able to see your blog since all blogspot sites are blocked from China :-(

  15. Hi Rod!

    Great, that your topic has been chosen. I can't afford to miss it :)

    Nice drawing. Maybe you can do it, a start to finish win :) Suggesting a topic and winning it ... Has anybody ever done it ?

    1. I think the topic picker should pick the winner..It would be difficult though, as I have seen a good twenty at least so far so I would have to pull a name from a hat!

  16. The guy in front seems like he's an old pro, but I'm worried about the poor soul in the background who didn't make it... What became of him/her?
    nice movement here
    ~~~ and I almost see a "R" "M" spelled out in cursive with the track in your background...
    hmmm...
    clever? or subconscious?
